Área Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB) entrust to Sono as AV provi – der with the design and installation of this exhibition that can be visited for free until 25th April.

Área Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB) is the supramunicipal administration, which acts in 36 towns including Barcelona. It has competency in urban planning, public space, transport and mobility, waste management, integrated water cycle and economic promotion, among other services.

To inspire debate among citizens about the new project of Urban Director Plan (PDU), the exibition offers a different view of the changes in the metropolitan area of Barcelona since 1976.

What better way to show this view in a dynamic and impressive way than using audiovisual technology. For this AMB has turned to Sono, who has been in charge for the design of the AV and control systems. Sono, with a wide stock of audio and video material provides also the audio visual equipment rental, the installation and programming of control system and synchronizations.

The exhibition consists of 19 conceptual zones, among which we highlight the “audiovisual cloud” (zone 4) with 10 pro – jection screen. The image of the cloud is synchronized with a video mapping over mock-up of the metropolitan area (zone 1).

About the AV technology employed:

Display system: 11 3xLCD projectors (Panasonic), 16 iPad, 1 Videowall 2×2 55”, 18 23’’ LCD screens (HP) and 12 40’’ LCD screens (Samsung). There is always a 42’’ touch screen (Philips) and other one of 19’’ (Elo) to interact with the videowall.

Players system: there have been installed 37 solid state and Full HD players (10 to send synchro signal to the 10 projectors of the cloud) and 3 solid state players with 4K resolution (BrightSign). Videowall outputs are managed by Watchout and also the video mapping over the mock-up synchronized with the cloud.

Audio system: various coordinated systems for ambient sound and the audio of the different conceptual zones. (JBL, Yamaha, Bose…).

Control system: Everything is managed by LAN and current control (Crestron). This system allows automation, room turn on and off, and also remote management and maintenance and content dumping.
